✂️AFT passing cutoff gap calculator

Your shortfall against the cutoffs you enter

The example numbers in the input boxes only show the expected format; they are not cutoffs. Enter the values from your unit's own scoring tables.

Enter the cutoffs yourself and see how far short each event is

The Army Fitness Test replaced the older test in June 2025, and its scoring tables are published by the service rather than by calculator sites. This page therefore stores no cutoff numbers at all: you type in the per-event numbers from your unit's official tables, along with your own results, and it works out the gap. Hand-release push-ups go in as reps, while the plank hold and the two-mile run go in as separate minute and second boxes because they are timed events.

Direction matters, and the three events do not run the same way. A longer plank hold is better and a faster two-mile run is better, so the plank is compared with greater-than-or-equal and the run with less-than-or-equal. A result exactly equal to the cutoff counts as met, and the shortfall then shows as zero. Change needed is the shortfall divided by your own result, and the weekly target divides the shortfall by the weeks you entered and rounds up (as of October 2026).

Passing the test means at least 60 points in every event and 300 points overall, with 350 points overall required for 21 combat military occupational specialties. The per-event point cutoffs behind those scores disagree between secondary sources, so none are built in here and this page does not score or rank you. Cramming before a test is how people get hurt; see a clinician first if anything already hurts.

Frequently asked questions

Why are no cutoff numbers built in?

Per-event point cutoffs differ between secondary sources, and the official scoring tables are the real authority. Typing in the numbers your unit published keeps the result correct when those tables change.

What counts as meeting the cutoff?

A result exactly equal to the cutoff. Reps and the plank hold are compared as greater than or equal, and the two-mile run as less than or equal, so the shortfall shows as zero at the boundary.

Why is the weekly target blank?

The weeks box is optional. Leave it empty and the page shows "not entered" instead of a weekly target; enter a number of weeks and the shortfall is divided across them and rounded up.
