Work out the timeline, not just the gap

Enter your current hand-release push-up count, plank hold and two-mile run time, the goal you are aiming at for each, and how much you expect to gain per week. The tool reports the remaining gap and the number of weeks for each event, which event is the bottleneck, how many weeks until all three goals are met at once, and a week-by-week table of intermediate figures.

These three events belong to the US Army Fitness Test (AFT), which replaced the previous test in June 2025 and also includes a three-repetition maximum deadlift and a sprint-drag-carry. Passing requires at least 60 points in every event and 300 points overall, with 350 points for 21 combat arms occupations. Per-event point tables are not built in, because published versions disagree between sources, so you supply the goals yourself. Weeks are rounded up and an event already at its goal shows 0 weeks.

The weekly gain figures are starting values you are expected to change. The result is not a prediction, only your own assumption extended in a straight line. Real progress is not linear and plateaus are normal, so treat the week count as arithmetic rather than a schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Can I plan around the week count directly?

It is not a prediction. The weekly gain you typed is simply extended in a straight line, so changing the assumption changes the answer. Real progress is not linear.

Can two events be the bottleneck at once?

Yes. If several events need the same number of weeks they are all listed, and that figure becomes the week count for meeting every goal together.

Why do I have to type in my own goals?

Published per-event point tables disagree between sources, so none is stored here. Take the figure you need from the official scoring tables for your age group and sex.
