How to use the conversion rate calculator
Conversion rate is the share of clicks that reached your goal action: conversions ÷ clicks × 100. This calculator divides by clicks, matching how ad platforms report, so the figure lines up with campaign reporting.
Analytics tools normally divide by sessions or unique users instead. One person clicking twice, or bouncing and returning directly, pulls the two bases apart. Neither is wrong, but only compare like with like.
Clicks needed per conversion is the rate inverted. At 3%, one conversion takes about 33 clicks, which makes it easy to size the click volume a conversion target requires. With zero conversions the figure is undefined, so that row is hidden.
Add ad spend and the tool also returns CPC and CPA using CPA = CPC ÷ conversion rate, so the three numbers on screen always reconcile. When CPA runs above target, reading them together shows whether the click price or the rate is to blame.
Frequently asked questions
By clicks, the same basis ad platforms report. Analytics tools usually divide by sessions or users, which is why the same campaign shows two different rates.
CPA equals CPC divided by conversion rate, so a rising click price lifts CPA even when the rate holds. Read both together to find the cause.
