Recalculate the rest of a timed rep event mid-test
In a timed rep event such as the two-minute hand-release push-up of the US Army Fitness Test (AFT), pace usually collapses somewhere in the middle. Enter the event length, how much time has already gone, the reps you have completed and your target for the whole event. The tool reports the time and reps remaining, the pace you have held so far, the pace needed over what is left, and the final rep count if you hold the current pace.
The pace needed is rounded up and the projected final count is rounded down, because a required figure must not fall short while reps only count once completed. The verdict is computed from the one-decimal pace shown on screen, so the figures and the conclusion never point in opposite directions. If your completed reps already exceed the target, the surplus is reported separately.
No point table and no pass mark are built in, because published per-event scoring tables disagree between sources. Take the target from the official scoring tables and type it in. The projected final count is not a prediction, only your current pace extended arithmetically over the remaining time. Hold-for-time events such as the plank are not supported, since this tool counts repetitions rather than seconds held.
Frequently asked questions
It is arithmetic, not a prediction. Your pace so far is simply extended over the time remaining, and muscular endurance usually drops late in a set, so the real count is often lower.
A required figure that falls short would miss the target, so it is rounded up at one decimal. The projected count is rounded down instead, because only completed reps count.
No. This tool counts repetitions, so a hold-for-time event has nothing to pace. Use it for rep-counted events only.
