Nurse aide training hours are not one lump total. Classroom instruction, skills lab and supervised clinical practice are counted separately, so it is possible to be comfortably ahead overall and still be blocked because the clinical hours are short. Prior training can also reduce what is left to complete in a specific part.
Each part is handled on its own. A waiver is applied only up to that part's requirement, giving net need = required hours minus waived hours, which is then compared with the hours you have completed. If a waiver exceeds the requirement, the net need is held at 0 hours and the part is flagged. Hours exactly equal to the net need count as met, and the hours left show as 0.
Required and waivable hours differ by state, program type and year, so nothing is prefilled. Copy the figures from your training provider. The tool does not decide whether you qualify for a waiver, does not confirm program completion or certification, and does not convert hours into academic credits.
