How to Find the Best Unit Price
When grocery shopping, different sizes of the same product can make it hard to tell which one is actually cheaper. Unit price comparison (price ÷ quantity) reveals the true value. Enter the name, price, and quantity (oz, g, fl oz, count, etc.) for each item, and this calculator instantly sorts them from cheapest to most expensive per unit.
The key rule: use the same unit for all items you're comparing. If one bottle is 12 oz and another is 32 oz, enter 12 and 32 as the quantities. Mixing oz with fl oz or grams with ounces will give misleading results. For items sold by count (like paper towels or batteries), enter the number of sheets or pieces as the quantity.
A lower unit price doesn't always mean a better deal. Large bulk packages only save money if you'll use all of it before the expiration date. Factor in storage space, your typical usage rate, and whether you'd be wasting any of the larger size. The best value is the one that fits your actual needs.
