Sprint Schedule Generator — How It Works
Enter the first sprint start date, how many calendar days each sprint lasts, and how many sprints you want to plan. The tool generates a full sprint table showing start and end dates for every sprint, with the currently active sprint highlighted.
Choosing Your Sprint Length
The Scrum Guide recommends 1–4 week sprints. Two-week sprints (14 days) are the most common. Shorter sprints work well for fast-feedback environments; longer sprints suit stable teams with less frequent demo needs. Most teams find 2 weeks to be the right balance.
Tips for Planning
The table marks past sprints as "Done," the current sprint as "Active," and future ones as "Upcoming." Use this as a quick check against your roadmap. Note that calendar days are used — adjust sprint lengths manually if a sprint contains public holidays.
Frequently Asked Questions
Sprint 0 (team setup, backlog grooming, environment prep) is typically excluded from the sprint count. Start this generator from Sprint 1 when actual development begins.
This generator runs sprints back-to-back. To add buffer, increase the sprint duration by the number of buffer days you need. For example, a 2-week sprint with 1 buffer day = 15 days.
