How to Use the Pomodoro Session Planner

The Pomodoro Technique breaks your workday into focused sprints followed by short breaks. This planner lets you customize every parameter — focus duration, break lengths, long break interval, and total session count — and generates a complete time-blocked schedule with exact timestamps for each session and break.

How to Use

Enter your start time in HH:MM format. Set your focus duration (default 25 min), short break (5 min), long break (15 min), long break interval (every 4 sessions), and total sessions (8). Click "Generate Schedule" to see the full day plan with start and end times for every block.

Choosing Your Settings

If 25-minute sessions feel too short, try 50-minute focus / 10-minute break (the "90-minute ultradian rhythm" variant). If you struggle to start, try 15-minute sessions to build momentum. Front-load your hardest tasks in early sessions when focus is highest. Total pure focus time beyond 4 hours per day risks burnout — plan accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Pomodoro Technique effective for everyone?

Not necessarily. Deep creative or engineering work may benefit from longer uninterrupted blocks. Customize the duration to fit your work style and test what works best for you.

What should I do during breaks?

Use short breaks (5 min) for stretching, eye rest, or a quick walk. Use long breaks (15–30 min) for a proper rest, snack, or short walk outside. Avoid screens during breaks for best recovery.
