This picker chooses one person to pay the bill after a group meal. Type the participant list one name per line (or comma separated) and press the button to draw a single name. Add the bill total and the page also splits it two ways: the picked person covers the whole bill, or everyone except the picked person shares it.
The draw uses a reverse Fisher-Yates shuffle on the list and takes the first name, so the share for one person is 1 / number of participants. Each share is the total divided by the number of payers, rounded down to cents, and the leftover cents are shown on their own line. There is no published standard for who should pay or how a bill should be divided, and none was confirmed in an authoritative source, so every number here comes from your own input. Current as of October 2026.
This page does not handle tiered draws with several ranked winners, itemized per-dish settlement, or card processing fees. Browser randomness is not a cryptographically secure source, so do not use it for legally binding draws or for any draw where money is at stake. A lopsided run is not by itself proof that the draw is skewed, and it is not proof that this tool is fair either.
Frequently Asked Questions
Both lines stay in the pool as two different people. Delete the duplicate line yourself if one person should appear only once.

It only picks a person and skips the money math. The result shows that the total was not entered.
