You Might Also Need

This picker chooses who lost a bet or a game and pairs each loser with a forfeit in one step. Type the participant list one name per line, set how many losers you need, then add the forfeits one per line. The result is a table that matches each drawn loser to one forfeit, and you can either shuffle the forfeits or keep the order you typed.

Losers are drawn with a reverse Fisher-Yates shuffle that takes names from the front of the shuffled list, so the chance for one person is the number of losers divided by the number of participants. Forfeits are shuffled the same way and attached one by one in the order the losers come out. There is no published standard for how many forfeits a group should use or how severe they should be, and none was confirmed in an authoritative source, so the forfeits, their count and the number of losers all come from your own input. Current as of October 2026.

This page does not handle tiered winner draws, converting a forfeit into a cash amount, or tracking whether a forfeit was carried out. Browser randomness is not a cryptographically secure source, so do not use it for legally binding draws or for any draw where money is at stake. One person coming up twice in a row is not by itself proof of a skewed draw, and it is not proof that this tool is fair either. Keep forfeits inside what everyone has agreed to.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I leave the forfeit list blank?

The page draws losers only and the forfeit column says that no forfeit was entered. Add one forfeit per line to use the matching.

What if there are fewer forfeits than losers?

Forfeits are matched from the top of the list and the remaining losers are marked as having no forfeit, with the shortfall shown on its own line.

Can I keep my forfeit order?

Yes. Choose the option to assign forfeits in the order you typed and the list is matched without shuffling.
