How the 3-ingredient draw works
When the fridge is open and nothing gets decided, this flips the order: the ingredients come first and the dish comes later. The tool holds 50 ingredients in three groups, 20 mains, 16 supporting items and 14 seasonings, and draws one from each group. The group selector limits the main ingredient to meat and eggs, seafood, vegetables and mushrooms, or beans and tofu, and anything you type in the exclusion box is dropped from the pools when the word appears in the ingredient name. It also works as a cooking-battle prompt where the basket is set before the menu.
The combination count is the plain product of the remaining pool sizes, mains times supporting items times seasonings, so every exclusion shrinks it. Each group is drawn uniformly with the browser Math.random function, which is not a cryptographically secure random source, so do not use it for an official draw that is legally binding or that involves money. The ingredient lists were grouped by the author as of October 2026.
No recipe, cooking method or quantity is given, and no dish name is suggested. The lists include foods that commonly cause allergies, such as peanuts, milk, eggs and shellfish, and foods people avoid for religious or vegetarian reasons, so always check a drawn ingredient against your own and your guests' restrictions.
