A titer test is used to help decide whether another vaccine is due, but when to draw it and what level counts as enough are decided patient by patient. The WSAVA vaccination guidelines place the first test 2 to 4 weeks after the last vaccination, and the retest interval after that is set by your veterinarian. Enter the date of the last test and the retest interval your veterinarian set, and it returns the next due date along with the days remaining or the days since it passed.

Dates advance by whole months with an end-of-month adjustment, so adding one month to January 31 lands on the last day of February, and only whole months are accepted. Leaving the reference date blank uses today; entering one recalculates against that date. Current as of October 2026; cut-off titers differ by lab, so follow the reference on your result sheet.

This tool does not choose which test to run, read a titer, decide whether to vaccinate, or cover vaccine types. Rabies vaccination intervals are set by state law in some places and are handled apart from titer results. It is for reference only and does not replace veterinary care. Contact your veterinarian right away if you suspect a reaction after a vaccination.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should a titer test be done?

The WSAVA vaccination guidelines advise testing 2 to 4 weeks after the last vaccination (for puppies, after the primary series). Retest intervals and the cut-off titer are set by the lab and your veterinarian, so this calculator uses the retest interval your veterinarian set.

Can the interval be a fraction?

Only whole months are accepted. A value such as 1.5 months makes the end-of-month adjustment ambiguous and the date unstable.

What shows on the due date itself?

When the reference date equals the due date, the days left read as 0 rather than flipping negative.
