How to use the review collection rate calculator
The base definition is reviews collected ÷ orders. In practice, though, the denominator splits two ways. Divide by orders and you learn what share of buyers left a review; divide by review requests sent and you learn what share of the people you asked actually responded. When some orders never got a request, the two numbers diverge sharply, so entering requests sent and reading both side by side is the accurate approach. Request coverage is calculated too, which shows immediately where the gap sits.
What counts as a strong collection rate depends on product category, price point, when the request goes out and whether an incentive is attached, so no benchmark is built in. Enter your own target and you get the gap plus how many more reviews the target requires. That figure is rounded up, and the label says so when rounding applied.
If customers who bought outside the reporting window leave reviews inside it, reviews can exceed orders; the label flags the result as above 100% when that happens. Align the date ranges and run it again.
Frequently asked questions
Use the request basis to judge the review request email or push itself, and the order basis to judge how fast reviews accumulate on product pages. Always state which basis a reported number used.
Put only the photo review count in the reviews field and the result is the photo review collection rate. The calculator does not take review types as separate inputs.
