How to use the lead scoring calculator
There is no standard scoring table. Which actions earn points, and how many points make a lead an MQL, is decided per company and often per product. So this calculator ships with no preset weights: you enter the criteria, the maximum points, the points earned and the threshold scores, and it only sums and grades. Borrowing someone else's point table means filtering your leads against someone else's customers.
A workable table mixes two kinds of criteria. Behavioral signals such as visiting the pricing page, downloading a guide or requesting a demo show intent, while profile attributes such as job title, company size and industry show fit. Keeping both prevents a score that rewards curiosity without qualification. Use the weights your team agreed on, then read the per-criterion table to see which conditions are still empty.
Enter MQL and SQL thresholds and the verdict row reports whether the total clears them; leave them blank and that row is skipped and hidden. Thresholds are not set once and forgotten. Compare them against actual win rates each quarter: plenty of high-scoring leads that never closed is a sign the weights or the thresholds need revision.
Frequently asked questions
No published standard exists. The practical starting point is to list what your recent closed-won customers did before signing and give those actions the highest weights.
This calculator accepts zero or positive points only, so penalties are not supported. Model them by leaving the points earned for that criterion at zero.
