How to use the lead nurturing duration calculator
Knowing how long a lead actually took to convert makes follow-up cadence and pipeline timing far more realistic. Enter the first touch date and the conversion date and this calculator returns the number of days, then converts the same figure into weeks and months. The month conversion treats 365 days divided by 12 months as 30.4 days, and the label prints that basis so there is no ambiguity.
Dates are parsed in the browser's local time zone, so results never slip by a day the way UTC parsing can. Identical dates read as 0 days, and a conversion date before the first touch raises a message instead of a negative duration.
Enter the number of touches and you also get the average gap between them. There is always one fewer gap than there are touches, so the days are divided by (touches − 1). A very long average gap often means you are reaching out after the lead has gone cold. No target duration is suggested here, since it depends entirely on price point and how the buying decision is made.
Frequently asked questions
This calculator handles one lead at a time. For an average, run a handful of representative leads and average the results yourself, or compare typical cases segment by segment.
Count every point of real contact: emails, calls, meetings, demos. Decide once whether automated sends count, then apply the same rule to every lead you measure.
