Korea gives two months to oppose a published trademark application. The United States gives 30 days, so anyone carrying a Korean habit across the Pacific loses half the window without noticing. Enter the publication date from the Official Gazette and this calculator returns the opposition deadline before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, plus the extension dates that follow it.
How the days are counted — the publication day itself is not counted, matching the day-zero convention in Fed. R. Civ. P. 6(a)(1)(A), and the extension lines are measured from the same publication date so every figure shares one starting point. A deadline landing on a Saturday, Sunday or federal holiday moves to the next business day under 37 C.F.R. 2.196; the calculator shows the weekend roll-over only, so check holidays separately.
Legal basis — 15 U.S.C. 1063(a) gives any person who believes they would be damaged 30 days from publication to oppose, and 37 C.F.R. 2.101(c) and 2.102 govern the filing and the extensions of time. Extensions are granted in steps, and the outer limit runs 180 days from publication, after which no further extension is available. Figures are current as of September 2026.
