How to Use the Paver & Curb Quantity Calculator
Pavers and curb stones are ordered using two completely different methods. Pavers are calculated from the floor area divided by the area of a single paver, while curb stones are calculated from the perimeter length divided by the length of one curb piece. This calculator takes both sets of inputs and gives you each count separately.
Paver count comes from applying your waste factor to the install area, then dividing by the area of one paver (width x length converted from square inches to square feet) and rounding up. Curb count comes from applying the waste factor to the perimeter length converted to inches, then dividing by the length of one curb piece and rounding up. You can fill in just one section if you only need one material.
Your waste factor should cover cutting and breakage losses. Straight runs typically only need about 5%, but layouts with many corners, curves, or wide mortar joints can lose significantly more material, so bumping the factor up to 10% or higher keeps you from running short mid-installation.
