What is the Game Server Latency Calculator?
Estimate your ping to a game server based on your location and the server's region, then see how that latency affects your chosen game genre. Use it to decide which server region offers the best experience before committing to an account, or to check whether a foreign server is playable from your location.
Ping Thresholds by Genre
- FPS / Fighting: Under 30ms excellent / Under 60ms good / 100ms+ noticeable
- MOBA / RTS: Under 50ms excellent / Under 80ms good / 120ms+ noticeable
- RPG / MMO: Under 80ms excellent / Under 150ms good / 250ms+ noticeable
- Strategy / Card: Under 100ms excellent / Under 200ms good / 350ms+ noticeable
Frequently Asked Questions
It's based on average physical network distance between regions. Your actual ping depends on your ISP, routing path, and server load, so results may vary.
For most casual players, 60ms is not problematic. Above 100ms, a clear delay becomes noticeable. Competitive players may feel the difference even at 30ms.
VPNs usually add latency. In rare cases where an ISP routes traffic inefficiently, a VPN may help — but this is the exception, not the rule.
