How to Use the Difficulty Reward Efficiency Calculator
Even within the same piece of content, normal, hard, and legend difficulty come with different reward multipliers and different clear times, which makes it hard to tell from raw reward numbers alone which difficulty is actually the better use of your time. This calculator takes each difficulty's clear time and reward, computes per-minute efficiency, and tells you which one pays off best.
It's tempting to assume higher difficulty always means proportionally higher rewards, but in practice clear time often scales faster than the reward multiplier. If legend's reward is six times normal's but the clear time is eight times longer instead of four, its per-minute efficiency actually ends up lower than normal.
Actual clear times vary with party composition and gear, so plug in your own average clear time for an accurate result. When your play time is limited, choosing a farm difficulty based on this per-minute efficiency - rather than total reward size - pays off more in the long run.
Frequently Asked Questions
Each difficulty's reward amount is divided by its time in minutes to get a per-minute rate, then the three difficulties are compared and the highest rate is marked as the most efficient.
Not necessarily. Clear time often grows faster than the reward multiplier, so hard or even normal mode can end up more efficient per minute than legend. You need to run the actual numbers to know for sure.
This calculator assumes a successful clear. If there's a failure chance, multiply your reward amount by your success probability before entering it for a more realistic expected efficiency.
