How to Use the Recipe Scaler
Enter the original (base) number of servings and your target servings. Then add each ingredient with its name, quantity, and unit. The calculator instantly proportions every ingredient to your target serving count.
How It Works
The scale factor is simply target รท base. Every ingredient quantity is multiplied by this factor. For a 4-serving recipe scaled to 10 servings, the factor is 2.5 and every ingredient is multiplied by 2.5.
Scaling Tips
Salt, sugar, and strong spices often taste better at 80โ90% of the proportional amount when scaling up significantly. Indivisible items like eggs should be rounded to the nearest whole number. Baking recipes are more sensitive to ratios than savory cooking.
