How to use the ski season leg session volume calculator
Enter the weeks left before the season and how many leg sessions each week holds, then list the session as one exercise per line with its sets and reps. The tool returns sets and reps per session, per week and across the whole block, and builds a week-by-week table of cumulative sessions and cumulative sets. If a line does not parse it names the line number.
The maths is addition and multiplication only. Sets per session add up the sets of every exercise, and reps per session multiply sets by reps for each exercise before adding. Multiplying by sessions per week gives weekly volume, and multiplying again by the weeks left gives the block total. Weeks and sessions per week accept whole numbers only (checked October 2026).
The page does not propose how long a prep block should be, because no authoritative standard for that is published. Exercise selection, recommended set counts and load prescriptions are not outputs either; everything shown is your own plan spread over the time you entered. If your knees or ankles hurt, or you have had surgery, discuss the plan with a clinician or qualified coach before starting.
Frequently asked questions
This page does not propose a prep length. No authoritative standard is published, so you enter the weeks you actually have and it works out the volume that fits in them.
No. Exercise names, sets and reps are all values you type in, and the calculator only adds them up and spreads them over sessions, weeks and the whole block.
One exercise per line as name, sets, reps separated by commas, for example back squat, 4, 8. If a line does not match, the tool names the line number.
