Navy NCO Fitness Test Scoring Guide

The Navy NCO fitness test evaluates three core events: push-ups (2 min), sit-ups (2 min), and a 1.5-mile run. Each event is scored on a 10-point scale for a maximum total of 30 points. A score of 18 or more points (60%) is typically required to pass. Consistently poor performance in any single event may result in disqualification.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum passing score?

A total of 18 out of 30 points (60%) is the general passing threshold. Some commands or programs may require higher scores for specific roles.

How are push-ups counted?

Arms must lower until elbows reach 90°, then fully extend upward. Body must remain straight throughout. Resting in the up position is allowed; resting on knees is not.

Are female standards different?

Yes. Female thresholds for push-ups, sit-ups, and the run are adjusted to account for physiological differences while maintaining proportional fitness standards.
