How to use this workout time block finder
Before arguing about morning versus evening, it is quicker to see where your day is actually open. Enter your wake-up and bed times, then list the commitments you cannot move - commute, meals, childcare - one per line as "start time, minutes". The page subtracts them from your waking hours and shows each remaining window with its clock times and length. A bedtime earlier than your wake-up time is treated as the next day.
Overlapping commitments are merged so nothing is subtracted twice, lines that fall outside your waking hours are skipped, and both adjustments are reported on screen. Gaps too short to use are filtered out by the minimum block length you set, and the count and total minutes removed are shown. The box starts at 20 minutes, which is a convenience default rather than any published standard (reviewed October 2026).
This page does not decide whether morning or evening training is better. Published work on time of day and performance disagrees and no authoritative standard exists, so only the open windows are calculated. Shifting your sleep to create a block, shift work or jet lag adjustment, and exercise selection are not supported.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Published work on time of day disagrees and there is no authoritative standard, so the page only calculates the clock times and length of your open blocks.
One per line as "start time, minutes". A 40-minute lunch at 12:30 is written 12:30, 40. If a line cannot be read, the page names the line number.
The overlapping stretch is merged into one block so it is not subtracted twice, and the number of merges is reported with the results.
