How to Use the Drop Set & Superset Volume Calculator
Drop sets and supersets are two popular ways to stimulate more muscle in less time. But because weight or exercise changes mid-set in both techniques, the standard "sets x reps x weight" formula doesn't capture real training volume. This calculator lets you pick your technique and accounts for the weight and reps at each stage, giving you an accurate total training volume (the sum of weight times reps across every stage).
A drop set starts at a given weight and reduces it each time reps become too hard to continue. Enter the starting weight, reps per stage, number of drops, and weight-drop percentage per stage, and the calculator works out each stage's weight automatically, then reports total volume and average intensity relative to your starting weight. A superset pairs two different exercises back-to-back with no rest — enter each exercise's weight and reps plus the number of rounds, and it multiplies per-round volume by rounds to get total volume and total reps.
These numbers are a theoretical calculation assuming you complete the planned training exactly as entered — actual muscle growth and recovery also depend on your strength level, nutrition, sleep, and other factors.
