How to use the double under transition session planner

Enter the single unders and double unders you can currently string together, your target, the transition threshold and weekly gain you have chosen, and the sets you plan per session. The tool then lays out the session in numbers: the ratio of singles to doubles, total single under reps and double under attempts per session, the reps left to your threshold and your target, and how many weeks the target would take. If you cannot do double unders yet, enter 0 and the rest still calculates.

The maths is multiplication and division. Reps per session are sets times your unbroken count, and the week figure divides the reps left to target by your weekly gain assumption and rounds up. Both the threshold and the weekly gain are yours to set, and the example numbers in the fields are values commonly seen in community practice rather than any authoritative standard (checked October 2026).

The week count is not a prediction. It assumes the gain you entered repeats every week, while real progress mixes plateaus with sudden jumps. Calorie burn and technique correction are not outputs of this page. Double unders repeat a landing impact, so if your ankles or calves hurt, find the cause of the pain before pushing the rep count higher.

Frequently asked questions

How much should I trust the week count?

It is not a prediction but a straight extension of what you entered. It assumes your weekly gain stays constant, and real progress is not linear, with plateaus along the way.

What transition threshold should I enter?

You choose it. No authoritative number for switching to double unders is published, only community practice, so even the example value is an example rather than a standard.

Why are there no calories?

This page is for session composition and week counts only. It handles reps, sets and the weeks remaining, and it does not output calorie burn.
