How to Use the CrossFit WOD Calorie Predictor
Curious how many calories today's WOD (Workout of the Day) actually burned? This predictor takes the WOD type, your body weight, and your actual completion time (optional) to estimate total calories burned and calories per minute. Leave completion time blank and it defaults to that WOD's typical duration.
CrossFit WODs vary a lot in character. Short, all-out WODs like Fran (the 21-15-9 rep scheme) finish quickly but burn calories at a very high rate per minute. Long chipper-style WODs like Murph, which combine running with pull-ups, push-ups, and squats, take much longer and rack up a higher total simply because of their length. Time or round-based WODs like Cindy and Helen tend to fall somewhere in between.
Completion times for the same WOD can vary widely based on fitness level, so entering your actual time gives a much more accurate estimate than the default average. Logging your times over multiple sessions is also a great way to track how your fitness improves over time.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you leave completion time blank, the calculator uses the average duration for that WOD. Entering your actual time gives a more accurate calorie estimate.
Each WOD has different movements, intensity, and average duration. Short, explosive WODs like Fran burn calories at a high rate per minute, while long WODs like Murph rack up a higher total simply from taking much longer to complete.
