Language teaching certificates are often tiered, and the higher tiers add supervised teaching experience on top of coursework. Counting total credits alone does not tell you where you stand. This checker puts the credits for each area and the experience requirement on one screen so you can see which side is holding you back.
Enter one area per line. Each area reports credits earned minus credits required as its gap, and leaving the total blank uses the sum of the area minimums. Experience is compared in months to give the shortfall. A value exactly equal to the requirement counts as met, and gaps show as 0 credits or 0 months. If even one area is short, the overall result is reported as not met.
Choosing a tier only changes the result label; it does not fill in any requirement. Tier rules differ by awarding body, pathway and year, so nothing is prefilled and you should copy the figures from your own programme guide. The tool does not decide which area a course belongs to and does not confirm that a certificate will be issued.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. The tier only appears in the result label. The credits and experience each tier asks for have to be entered by hand.
Leave the experience check set to credits only. The result is then based on credits alone and the experience rows show as not applied.
If you typed a total credit figure it can be higher than the sum of the areas. Check the per-area rows and the total credit gap together.
