How this section pass checker works

The CPA Exam is judged section by section. Each section carries its own passing score, and a strong result in one section does not carry a weaker one, so the useful question is which sections are already cleared and how far the rest still have to go. Enter one section per line with its reported score and this page sorts them into cleared and short.

A section clears when its score is at or above the passing score entered, so exactly 75 against a 75 requirement counts as cleared rather than short. For every section still short, the gap is rounded up to two decimals and the gaps are added into one total. The lowest section and the plain average of the sections entered are shown for reference only, because the average has no role in the pass decision.

The passing score and the top of the reported scale are editable inputs rather than built-in values, since boards publish their own figures. There is no ranking, quota or cutoff here: this page does not estimate how other candidates scored and does not predict a cutoff. Credit expiry windows and score release timing are not covered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a high section score help a weak one?

No. Each section is judged against the passing score on its own, so the sections are tallied separately and no averaging is applied.

Is a score exactly at the passing score enough?

Yes. A section clears at or above the passing score, so 75 against a 75 requirement is counted as cleared.

Does this page estimate a cutoff?

No. There is no ranking or quota involved, so the page only compares the scores you entered with the passing score you entered.
