How to use the app store screenshot fit guide
The hard part of uploading store screenshots is rarely knowing the required numbers. It is working out how your captured screen fits into them. Enter your source width and height, the submission width and height, and whether you would rather pad or crop, and the page returns the scale to apply, the scaled size, the padding or trim, and center-anchored coordinates.
Under the hood it picks between two scale factors. Padding uses the smaller of the horizontal and vertical ratios so the whole source fits, leaving the remainder as margin. Filling uses the larger one so no gap remains and the overflow is trimmed. When the scale comes out above 1 the source has to be enlarged, and a separate warning appears.
There is deliberately no table of per-device submission sizes here. The resolutions and counts stores ask for are revised regularly, so a baked-in list would go stale (checked October 2026). Look the submission size up in each store's own documentation and type it in. This tool computes numbers only; it does not convert your image or choose a padding color.
Frequently asked questions
The resolutions and counts stores require get revised often, so a list written today would be wrong within months. Type in the value you read from the official docs and this page handles the fitting math.
Pad when every part of the source has to stay visible, and fill when the frame needs to look full. Filling also reports the px being trimmed, so check that no important UI sits inside them.
It means the submission size is larger than your source, so the source has to be enlarged. Stretched screenshots soften text, so recapture on a bigger screen or at a higher scale instead.
