How Viewing Distance Is Calculated
- Pixel Acuity Limit: The distance at which the human eye (with 1 arcminute resolution) can no longer distinguish individual pixels. Sit within this distance to fully benefit from higher resolution.
- THX 30° Standard: THX recommends a horizontal field of view of 30° for home theater — similar to a commercial cinema experience.
- Comfortable Max (40° FOV): Sitting closer than this makes the image fill more than 40° of your horizontal field of vision, which can feel overwhelming.
