How to Use the Hotel Stay Calculator
Whether you're planning a vacation or a business trip, knowing your exact hotel nights and total accommodation cost helps you budget accurately. Simply select your check-in and check-out dates, and optionally enter the nightly rate to get an instant total.
How Hotel Nights Are Counted
Hotels charge by the night — the number of times you sleep in the room. A check-in on June 1 and check-out on June 3 equals 2 nights (June 1–2). The check-out day itself is not counted because you vacate the room that morning. This calculator subtracts the check-in date from the check-out date to give you the exact night count.
Tips for Accurate Cost Estimates
Always verify whether the quoted rate includes taxes and resort fees, as these can add 15–25% to the base rate in the US. For stays where the rate varies (e.g., lower midweek rates), split the dates into segments and calculate each one separately. Also check if your card offers hotel loyalty points or cash-back on travel bookings.

Early departure policies vary by hotel and booking type. Flexible rate bookings may refund unused nights, while non-refundable rates typically do not. Always read the cancellation policy before booking.
