How to Use the Income Goal Hours Calculator
When you're picking up a part-time job or freelance work, it helps to know exactly how many hours you need to hit a specific income target. This calculator takes your monthly income goal and hourly wage and instantly calculates the hours you need per month, per week, and per day.
Monthly hours are your income goal divided by your hourly wage. That figure is then divided by the average number of weeks in a month (about 4.345) to get weekly hours, and divided again by your workdays per week to get daily hours. Change your workdays per week and the same weekly total gets redistributed, changing how many hours you need each day.
These results are based on gross, pre-tax income. If you're planning around a specific take-home amount instead, gross that number up for taxes before entering it as your income goal.
