Focus blocks placed before a deadline

You Might Also Need

Fitting focus blocks into the time you have left

Give the time now, the deadline, the length of one focus block and the break you take between blocks, and the tool counts how many whole blocks fit before the deadline and lays each one out on the clock. The end of the last block and the spare time still left after it are both reported, so you can see at a glance whether one more block would squeeze in. When the deadline is past midnight, choose the next-day option and the result line states which reading was applied.

The count rounds down, taking only blocks that fit whole. The break after the final block does not have to land inside the deadline, so it is not held against the count, and the break total adds up only the gaps that sit between blocks. To work straight through with no pauses, put 0 in the break field. (As of October 2026)

No reference value is offered for the best hour of the day or the right block length. The lengths you use are taken as given and simply placed on the clock. Counting sessions from a bare pool of available time, or deriving an end time from a session count, is not covered here.

Frequently asked questions

Does the final break have to fit before the deadline?

No. The count treats the end of the last focus block as the finish line, so only whole focus blocks are counted and the total rounds down.

What if the deadline is past midnight?

Choose the next-day option in the select field. Nothing is guessed, and the result states which reading was applied.

How long should a focus block be?

No official reference value is offered. Enter the length you already work with and the blocks are laid out to match it.
