Enter the name and date of the previous and the next solar term from your astronomical source, pick a reference date, and the tool shows the days left to the next term, the days elapsed since the previous one, the length of the span between them, and the share of that span already passed. Because the gap between terms runs anywhere from 14 to 16 days, knowing where you sit inside the span is more useful for planning than the days left alone.
Days are counted by subtracting calendar components directly, so the figures do not shift with the reader time zone, and spans crossing a leap day are counted in real days. The halfway check uses the same one-decimal value shown on screen, so the number and the verdict never disagree. Written as of October 2026.
No table of the 24 solar term dates is provided, because the dates move every year and a fixed table would simply be wrong. Lists of term-by-term foods and customs are also left out, as no single official source exists for them. Comparing all 24 terms at once and converting lunar dates are not covered here.
Frequently Asked Questions
The 24 solar terms are set by the ecliptic longitude of the sun, so the same term moves by a day or two each year. A fixed table would be wrong the moment the year changes, so the dates from your own astronomical source are used.
It is the days elapsed from the previous term to the reference date divided by the total days between the two terms. The share is shown to one decimal, and the halfway check asks whether it is above 50.0%.
This tool counts the days left to a single term only. Measuring the gaps across all 24 terms at once is not covered, and neither is entering only a year to find the next term.
