How Age Difference Is Calculated
The calculator uses the earlier birthdate as the reference and computes complete years, remaining months, and remaining days up to the later birthdate — the same logic used to calculate someone's age from their birthday. Leap years and month-length variations are handled automatically. The calculation is based on the internationally recognized standard age (age completed on birthday).
Frequently Asked Questions
The calculator handles February 29 correctly. In non-leap years, the leap-day birthday is treated as February 28 for calculation purposes.
If both birthdates match exactly, the age difference shows as 0 years, 0 months, 0 days, and the result notes they share the same birthday.
