How the Random World Flags Quiz Works
Choose a pool and how many questions you want, then press the button to build multiple-choice questions with a flag and four options each. Work through them, press Show answers for the answer table, and press it again to hide it. It works as a classroom warm-up, a family game, or a quick self-check.
Flags are shown as emoji
Instead of images, each flag is built from its ISO country code as a flag emoji. The full pool holds 51 countries and the well-known pool holds 20, and up to 10 questions are built at a time. Questions are shuffled with the Fisher-Yates algorithm so no country is asked twice in one quiz, and the three wrong options are drawn from countries other than the answer. The colors and symbols on a flag are never described in words.
Flags look different on different devices
Flag emoji are drawn by the operating system font, so shapes vary between devices. On Windows in particular, a flag often appears as a two-letter code such as KR or JP, which makes the question far too easy. If you plan to use this in a class, check how it renders on that device first.
