What This Gratitude Prompt Generator Does
Opening a gratitude journal is easy; knowing what to write in it is not. Pick a category, set how many prompts you want, press the button, and this tool draws prompt sentences for today at random. Thirty prompts are split across six categories — people, today, yourself, memories, small things and hard days — and you can draw up to ten at a time.
Mixing In Your Own Prompts
Type your own prompts in the box, separated by line breaks or commas, and they are shuffled in with the built-in ones. Surrounding spaces are trimmed and identical lines are kept only once. Up to thirty of your own prompts are used; if you paste more, only the first thirty count and a note appears above the results. If you ask for more prompts than there are candidates, you get everything available instead.
A Suggested Way To Use It
Do not try to answer every prompt you draw. Pick the one line that moves you first and write about three sentences on it. Writing at the same time each day makes the habit stick, and repeat prompts get interesting once you notice your answer has changed. Nothing you type is saved, so copy anything you want to keep.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Multiple prompts are taken from a shuffled list, so they cannot repeat within one draw. Pressing the button again starts a fresh draw unrelated to the last one.
