๐ŸŒ™Late-Night Snack Roulette

Load your snack candidates, spin once, and settle what to eat tonight

How the Late-Night Snack Roulette Works

It is past midnight, you are hungry, and you have been scrolling a delivery app for twenty minutes without deciding. This roulette ends that loop. Pick one of the ready-made pools, press the button, and one snack is drawn at random, along with a runner-up and a third choice in case the first pick does not sound right.

If you already have candidates in mind, type them in the second box, one per line or separated by commas. Whenever that box has content, the pool selector is ignored and only your list is used. Repeats are kept on purpose: writing the same snack twice gives it twice the odds, so you can weight your favorites. Up to 100 candidates are used, and the result tells you when the list was trimmed.

How the draw works

The candidate list is shuffled with the Fisher-Yates algorithm and the first three entries are taken. That makes it structurally impossible for the same candidate to appear as both the winner and the runner-up, and every candidate has exactly the same chance. The odds shown are simply one divided by the number of candidates, so duplicates you entered on purpose raise the real odds accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I keep getting the same snack?

Every spin is an independent shuffle, so repeats are normal. The smaller the pool, the higher the chance of a repeat, so add more candidates or type your own shortlist.

Can I make one snack more likely?

Yes. Enter it more than once in your own list. Duplicates are never merged, so each repeat acts as extra weight.

Are the built-in pools fixed?

They are example lists meant as a starting point, so feel free to replace them with your own. Calorie or nutrition tracking is not supported.
