How to Use the Senior Dog Exam Item Log Organizer
No recognized table fixes which tests a senior dog needs at which age and how often. What is needed depends on size, medical history, current medications and the previous results. So this organizer recommends nothing. Write down the items you agreed with your veterinarian, one per line, add the recheck interval and the date of the last checkup, and it returns the list and the next due date.
Commas work the same as line breaks, and spaces inside an item name are kept as typed. A name entered twice is kept once, and the number of duplicates removed is reported. If the due date would land on a day that month does not have, it is moved to the last day of that month. The senior period itself is treated by the AAHA canine life stage guidance as the final quarter of expected lifespan, so it is not set by age alone. Figures current as of October 2026.
The tool does not choose which tests are needed and recommends no interval. It only organizes what you entered. This tool is for reference only and does not replace veterinary care. Contact your veterinarian right away if you notice symptoms or suspect a problem.
