It converts a count, it does not set a dose
Enter the mg per tablet or scoop printed on the product, the daily dose in mg your veterinarian set, and how many servings a day you give. The tool returns units per day and units per serving, the mg in each serving, and, if you add the container size, how many days one container lasts, rounded down.
Why no recommended amount appears
Published daily amounts for joint support ingredients differ several fold between sources. Some describe a higher loading period followed by a lower amount, and products differ in concentration and in which ingredients they combine, so no single number covers them. No authoritative table sets a single recommended amount per ingredient, and the only arithmetic here is division. The basis for the dose is the prescription you enter, and no default is held. Information here is current as of October 2026.
Working out a dose from body weight alone is not supported, and interactions with existing conditions or medications are not assessed. This tool is for reference only and does not replace veterinary care. Contact your veterinarian right away if you notice symptoms or suspect a problem.
Frequently asked questions
No. Published amounts per kilogram differ several fold, so no dose is suggested. Get the daily dose from your veterinarian and enter it.
Ask your veterinarian whether the form can be split or rounded to a whole unit. Adjusting it yourself is not the safer option.
Yes. Copy the mg per scoop from the label and the result is in scoops. Re-enter the value whenever you change to a product with a different scoop.
