How to use the pet habitat temperature and humidity check
Enter the recommended temperature and humidity range from your care sheet or breeder, add the readings you just took in the enclosure, and the tool shows whether each sits inside the range and how far it has to move. It works for small mammals, reptiles and birds alike.
The tool ships with no per-species range table. Pets covered here span too many species for any authoritative single table to exist, so the comparison runs only against the values you enter. Both end points count as inside the range. Compiled as of October 2026.
The tool does not judge whether the range itself is right for your animal, and it does not handle thermal gradients, photoperiod or ventilation. If two sources give different numbers, check with a veterinarian who sees that species. This tool is for reference only and does not replace veterinary care. Contact your veterinarian right away if appetite drops or breathing looks abnormal.
Frequently asked questions
Pets here run from mammals to reptiles and birds, and the recommended ranges differ completely between them with no single authoritative table. So you enter the values from your own care sheet and the tool compares them.
Yes. Both end points are counted as inside the range. If the low end is 75 and the reading is 75, it is inside and the adjustment shows as zero.
Inside one enclosure the floor and the top, or the heated side and the cool side, differ. Measure at the height your animal actually uses, and for species kept on a gradient enter each side separately and compare twice.
