How to Use the Exponent & Power Calculator
The Exponent & Power Calculator computes the power of any base raised to any exponent and simultaneously shows the square root and cube root of the base. It supports positive and negative exponents, fractional exponents, and negative bases (with integer exponents).
Enter the base and exponent and all three results appear at once. Note that a negative base with a non-integer exponent falls outside the real numbers and is not calculated.
Key Formulas
Power: aⁿ = a multiplied by itself n times. Negative exponent: a⁻ⁿ = 1/aⁿ. Square root: √a = a^0.5. Cube root: ∛a = a^(1/3). Example: 2^10 = 1,024. √2 ≈ 1.4142. ∛8 = 2.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, 2^32 = 4,294,967,296. All integer exponents are calculated exactly.
Any base raised to the power of 0 equals 1. Example: 5^0 = 1, 100^0 = 1.
Viewing the power, square root, and cube root of the same base together gives useful insight into how numbers scale and is helpful for math and engineering work.
