How to Use the Webinar Promotion Budget Allocator
Growing registrations for a webinar or live event means splitting a limited budget across several promotion channels. This calculator takes the cost per lead (CPL) for email marketing, social ads, and search ads, then computes an optimal split that weights more spend toward whichever channel is most efficient (lowest CPL).
The split is proportional to the inverse of each channel's CPL — if a channel's CPL is half of another's, it receives roughly twice the budget share. Dividing each channel's allocated budget back by its CPL yields expected registrants per channel, which are summed and compared against your goal.
If the achievement rate falls short of 100%, consider raising your total budget, or improving the creative and targeting on the highest-CPL channel to bring its cost down.
Frequently Asked Questions
Channels with a lower cost per lead (CPL) receive a larger share of the budget. The allocation weights toward whichever channel delivers more registrants for the same spend.
Increase your total budget, or improve the creative and targeting on your highest-CPL channel to lower its cost — either move raises your achievement rate at the same spend.
