How to use the reach to web visit rate calculator
A social post can reach a lot of people and still send nobody to your site. This calculator uses reach โ unique people โ as the denominator and shows what share of them actually landed on the site. The result label spells out "sessions รท reach" so it never gets confused with an impression-based figure.
Using impressions as the denominator makes the same result look weaker, because impressions count repeat views by the same person. Before comparing channels or periods, agree on which denominator you are using.
Sessions per 1,000 reach is shown alongside the percentage. On channels where the rate drops below one percent, the per-thousand figure makes movement easier to read. If you enter link clicks, you also get the click-to-session rate and the number lost after the click โ a useful hint about slow pages or broken links.
Sessions can exceed reach and push the rate over 100%, because reach counts people and sessions count visits. The label flags that case rather than silently capping the number. For the session figure, filter your analytics to that channel with UTM tags so unrelated traffic is not counted.
