There is no national schedule of cancellation charges for broadband or pay TV in the United States. No federal agency caps an early termination fee, so the number in your own terms of service is the number that counts. Promotional credits and installation discounts are often clawed back separately from the termination fee, and unreturned routers or set-top boxes are billed at a replacement price listed in the agreement. Return equipment with a tracked shipment and keep the receipt, since those charges are the most common billing dispute after cancellation.
