How to Use the Card Disenchant Breakeven Calculator
When you're breaking down spare cards or items to gather materials for recombination, working out exactly how many you need to hit your target is tedious to do by hand every time. This calculator takes the material yield per item and the total materials needed for recombination, then calculates precisely how many items you need to disenchant to break even.
The math divides the total materials needed by the yield per item and rounds up. For example, if you need 500 materials and each item yields 15, you'd need to disenchant 34 items to secure at least 500 — 33 items only yields 495, five short of the target.
Adding how many items you currently own lets you instantly check whether what you already have is enough. If it falls short, the shortfall is shown so you know how many more to collect; if you have extra, the surplus is shown so you can plan your inventory accordingly.
Before disenchanting, it's worth double-checking whether the card or item might be more useful for something else later. Event-limited items and rare cards in particular can be regretted if you disenchant them purely for the material yield, so it's safer to prioritize items you're confident you have to spare.
Frequently Asked Questions
We divide the total materials needed for recombination by the yield per item and round up. Disenchanting that many items covers the required materials exactly.
If the materials you'd get from your owned items fall short of what's needed, the shortfall is shown. If you have more than enough, the surplus is shown instead.
