Working out how far you actually moved in a match
Enter the match time together with either an average speed or a GPS distance, and the page returns total distance, distance per minute and the overall average speed. An average speed is multiplied by the time; a GPS distance is used as given. Filling both fields triggers a prompt, because the tool cannot tell which one you mean.
Add speed zones and the tool splits distance using each zone share of time and its average speed. The shares have to total 100%, with a tolerance of 0.1 pp. Zone distance is zone speed times zone time, so the zone total may not match the overall distance exactly, and that gap is reported. No table of distances by position is built in: published figures differ by league and tracking method, so you enter the shares and speeds you recorded.
This page does not calculate calories burned. It is arithmetic on your inputs rather than an estimate, so a figure entered as an average speed carries none of the real acceleration and deceleration.
