How to use the TOEFL ITP score level converter
ITP reports converted scores for Listening Comprehension, Structure and Written Expression, and Reading Comprehension, and the total is built from those three. Enter the three section scores and the coefficient from your score report, and the converter works out the total and the section average. Add the level ranges you are working from and it also names the level your total falls in.
The total is the sum of the three sections divided by the number of sections and multiplied by the coefficient, then rounded to a whole number. The formula is printed in the results so you can see exactly what was applied. Enter a target total and the converter rounds up the section sum needed to reach it and shows how far that is from your current sum.
No ITP-to-iBT conversion is offered, because no official table exists. Level ranges are not built in either, since they differ by institution; the sample lines only show the input format. The page does not predict a pass decision or a future test result.
Frequently Asked Questions
There is no official conversion table. The two tests measure different things on different scales, so one score cannot stand in for the other. Check which test your institution accepts before you register.
Institutions and programs label the same total differently. Built-in ranges would report the wrong level for most users, so the tool reads the ranges from the table you are actually using.
That range. With a range starting at 543 pts, a total of 543 pts sits in it and 542 pts falls to the range below.
